The Department of Computer Science at The University of Auckland would like to invite UP members to assist in research to understand how software development roles and practices are managed within software projects in New Zealand. With this understanding, they will be able to better advise on roles and practices that best suit New Zealand industry. Information about the study can be found at http://www.cs.auckland.ac.nz/~ewan/sppi/.
If you are a software organisation and would like to participate, please contact Dr. Diana Kirk at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). You will be asked to complete an on-line questionnaire where you will be asked some general questions about your organisation. You will also be asked to forward the email to employees involved in software-related activities and encourage them to complete an on-line questionnaire about the software practices implemented in your organisation. The employee questionnaire will take approximately 15-20 minutes. For ethics approval, we are required to ask for assurance that an employee’s decision regarding participation will not affect the status of the employee in any way, as noted on the Consent Form.
On completion of the research we will provide all participating oganisations with a report giving an overview of the development practices carried out in NZ software organisations.
The study is funded by the Foundation for Research, Science and Technology (FRST), contract # UOAX 0711. Principal Investigator for the project is Associate Professor Ewan Tempero from the Department of Computer Science. Dr. Diana Kirk will be implementing the research.
Your participation and feedback would be of great value in helping identify more effective ways of developing computer software. If you have any questions, or would like to participate, please email Diana Kirk at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
