Networking Timelapse at GGG 2007

Unlimited Potential presents the techfest that is Gadgets, Games & Geeks. Following on from last years hugely successful event, Unlimited Potential in association with NZWireless is again hosting the GGG evening to highlight Wellington's innovation and technology success stories.

Over 250 people joined us for one whopping great big geeky networking fest.  They listened to and networked with some awesome speakers and exhibitors who are passionate about their gadgets, games and geek status.

Unlimited Potential's GGG night promised to stimulate the Geek, wow the Gadgeteer, and stagger the Gamer. Speakers and exhibitors will introduce you to new technology homegrown in our own Welly Valley. It's an opportunity to network with the people who create, develop, and deliver the innovation which keeps Wellington in the entrepreneurial spotlight.

Networking at Gadgets Games and Geeks

Speakers

For the Geeks we have Glynn Foster from Sun MicroSystems speaking on Sun’s Project Indiana.   Project Indiana is a binary distribution of OpenSolaris which being developed in an open environment, with a community on OpenSolaris.org.  It has gained quite a bit of talk lately in the international online community.

We would like to welcome back Mario Wynands from Sidhe Interactive to give us the latest info on Wellington’s gaming scene, including pre-release details of their new game 'Jackass' - base don the popular MTV series.

Lee fron Renaissance presents an iPod Nano to Robyn BeasleyOnce again we have Renaissance exhibiting, with the Apple division promising to once again wow us with the latest developments from Apple here in New Zealand. Lee Herbet will speak on the innovations Apple is bringing to the home and desktop (and palm).  From IPv6 enabled set-top boxes to Multi-touch to distributed video rendering, there is sure to be something for every geek.
The business card draw was a hit, with one person even scribbling their name on and sacrificing their shopping list to get in the draw for a brand new iPod Nano being given away by the  Apple Division of Renaissance Ltd. Robin Beasley took one home, a very happy lady.

Our keynote speaker was Brian Sweeney of Sweeney Vesty, who spoke on NZEdge.com, and the innovative capital. Denise Bach from Yaktivate also travelled all the way from the United States to speak on Doing business in a Web  2.0 world.

Exhibitors

We have a range of exhibitors - Podcasting networks, Web 2.0 software, Apple gadgets, and more. We'd hoped to have one of those reclining charis gamers are wowed by ( you can spend up to 12 hours without getting tired) But due to popular demand Vision Limited and sales outstripping production capcity in NZ, there were none available on the night.

Other confirmed exhibitors include Yaktivate, Chaos Dimension and ICE AV Technology.
We'll have wireless pens, and presentation technology that can run right from your phone, courtesy of Liz Knight of NZGeekGirl and Si Partners NZ.

To ensure the Web 2.0 isn't overlooked, the latest toolset of e-life cycle technologies, including some leading SaaS project management solutions will be exhibited by Bruce Alyward and the team from e-lm.com

There's still a little space for exhibitors – so if you think you might have something worth exhibiting, or there’s something you have been hankering to see – get in touch and we’ll see what we can do.  Contact ggg@up.org.nz and book your space for 2008!
