What?

With the huge success in the last two years, GGG is back for 2008. Unlimited Potential presents the techfest that is Gadgets, Games & Geeks. Be prepared to join all the keen people from the Wellington region in an unforgettable August evening.

It all started with the inaugural event in 2006, and the repeat success in 2007 where we promised to stimulate the Geek, wow the Gadgeteer, and stagger the Gamer. In 2008 speakers and exhibitors will introduce you to new technology homegrown in our own Silicon Welly. Exhibitors will showcase leading edge gaming technology, connectivity, multimedia, software and technologies for todays' digital world. Tech that can enhance your everyday life.

This is an opportunity to network with the people who create, develop, and deliver the innovation which keeps Wellington in the entrepreneurial spotlight. You get to listen to and get networked with some awesome speakers and exhibitors who are passionate about their gadgets, games and geek status.

Best of all - it's at No Cost (free) to attendees and we'll keep you refreshed ready to network and be inspired.

UP seeks donations for Wellington Childrens' Hospital

Bring along your childrens games and consoles to GGG

Earlier this week, Police caught thieves who broke into a locked cabinet in Wellington Hospital Childrens' Ward and stole a cache of Playstations, Xbox games and Laptops
Police recovered much of the stolen equipment, but five laptops, XBox games, a CD player and other equipment have vanished.
While their store is still full of donated toys (jigsaws and stuff) these just don't cut the mustard when it comes to occupying the young minds of our future.
So, if you have any consoles (PS1, PS2 or PS3 or XBox) and children's games (6-16 year old) lying around that you have clocked and/or no longer want - please bring them along to Gadgets, Games and Geeks - we'll then take these up to the hospital. Go on, you know you want to!
UP has a limited number of event tickets for donating attendees - so if you desperately want to attend, drop Jo a line.

> Richard Stallman at GGG

A pioneer in ICT circles, Richard controversially started a movement based around sharing source code back in the 1970s when programming was still in its infancy. Coined Free Software, Richard’s actions led to the ability for programmers to share software, allowing them to fix bugs and improve software to fit their needs –  and do it legally.  This is a rare opportunity to come and hear the Godfather of free software present, so don’t miss out.

To ensure a space at the Stallman seminar, please RSVP separately

Networking at UP event

Exhibitors and Sponsors:

We have a couple of places left for exhibitors and sponsors, so if you are interested dont hesitate: email paul@up.org.nz

Wellington is a hive of innovation, and while we have our finger on the pulse, we might not know of you - so if you've been tinkering with some tech, or want to demo a gadget, or show off your Grid computing enabled gaming setup - we want to see you exhibiting.

If you've got a product to sell, then bring a few for people to check out. If you've heard of something you'd like us to drag to the event, then let us know!

In the past we've a had a good mix of big brands, and local people. We love to see innovation and integration, and nothing beats a live demo.

All we ask from exhibitors is to cover costs (free for UP Members). We'll provide power and free wifi connectivity, along with a table - and leave the rest up to you.

Download a copy of our Gadgets, Games and Geeks 2008 Event Prospectus with further information for Exhibitors, Sponsors and Speakers for GGG '08

Unlimited Potential will be seeking event sponsors - so If you'd like to put some cash on the bar, buy naming rights, help with airfares for international speakers, or just have your name on the lips of every attendee - then get in touch!
